Hi! I’m Mawusi Arnett, MD MPH (Dr. Wuse)
I’m an Chicago-born, Ivy League-trained physician-scientist with board certifications in Obesity Medicine and Family Medicine.
My insights on health and wellbeing have been trusted by institutions like Yahoo, NPR and Ethel’s Club. My healthcare research has been published in the Journal of Urban Health.
The big “secret” to sustainable health?
Here is the takeaway from my 10+ years as a doctor. The “secret” to staying “healthy” or “getting in shape” is to constantly practice some version of these 3 steps:
1) Understand your root causes of health and disease
2) Identify your transformational habits
3) Execute the habit strategy to make it real
Growing up in Chicago planted a passion in me for the type of healing that empowers.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my career to helping people fight back against lifestyle-related chronic conditions by taking control of their habits.
After earning degrees from Princeton University, then University of Pennsylvania Medical School and Johns Hopkins University, I trained in Family Medicine and worked as an adult hospitalist doctor at Northwestern Medicine (around Chicago, IL).
I prescribed plenty of long-term and immediately life-saving treatments (like GLP-1 injections and blood pressure meds). It wasn’t lost on me that these meds were required to limit the suffering people experienced from chronic diseases that might have been wholly prevented decades earlier by a shift in habits. That’s lifesaving, but not empowering.
Across the board, in the tens of thousands of patients I’ve helped heal, their everyday habits were the key to whether they simply continued to survive or finally began to thrive.
In This Together!
Without meeting you, I already know this about you: Immense healing power lies in your habits!
My 10+ years as a physician have taught me that your mind and body have already drawn up an intricate blueprint for healing.
I’m here, as your guide, to translate the science of wellbeing that shows us how to let your body and brain work in our favor.
